Product & Wheel FAQs
What is the Desmond Regamaster EVO II wheel?
The Regamaster EVO II is a modern take on the iconic Regamaster EVO wheel, originally designed in 1995 by Rightman in Japan. Built upon the original’s heritage with modern advances: larger sizes, more offsets, improved rigidity, and better weight-to-strength ratios. It’s a fully forged wheel made from 6061 aluminum at Taneisya with an 8,000-ton press, featuring enhanced strength, lighter weight, and updated styling while retaining classic EVO lines.
Who manufactures these wheels?
Every EVO II is forged and machined by Taneisya in Japan—a firm with a legacy in Formula 1 and top-tier motorsports since 1993 .
What sizes and finishes are available?
Sizes range from 16″ through 19″. Finish options include Gloss White, Gloss Silver, Satin and Gloss Gunmetal, Satin Bronze, Gloss and Satin New Almighty Grey, Gloss and Satin Deep Sea Blue, plus Gloss & Satin Black.
How strong and light are EVO II wheels?
Designed for motorsports, EVO II wheels are ultra-light while maintaining strength. For instance, 18×9.5 wheels weigh about 8kg, matching or surpassing performance benchmarks of original 15″ versions.
Fitment & Usage
Which bolt patterns and offsets are available?
EVO II wheels offer a wide range of bolt patterns and offsets—from deep +20 to +72 offsets, and patterns like 4×100, 5×114.3, 5×120, etc.—to accommodate everything from compact streetcars to high-power platforms .
Will EVO II wheels fit my Honda S2000?
They fit commonly, but beware: the flat center caps do not work on S2000 rear wheels due to the protruding axle nut.
I have fitment questions, can you help?
Yes, feel free to get in touch for advise on fitment!
Accessories & Customization
Do you offer matching accessories like spoke decals and center caps?
Yes! Accessories include:
Spoke decals for EVO/EVO II and Marquis Promoda wheels, now with stronger adhesive (+40%), in various sizes and colors.
Flat center caps in Gloss Silver, NAG, Deep Sea Blue—each aluminum top weighs ~35 g.
Valve stems anodized black and manufactured in Japan.
These are OEM-grade replacements and upgrades.
Shipping & Manufacturing
Where are the wheels and accessories made?
All wheels are forged and machined in Japan by Taneisya. Accessories such as stickers, center caps, and spokes are also produced either in-house or by trusted long-term partners—often the same factories used since the late ’90s.
Quality & Certification
Are EVO II wheels certified?
Yes. They undergo rigorous strength tests (e.g., JWL, VIA) after forging to ensure safety and performance credentials. Unfortunately the EVOII is not TÜV certified at this time.
Can I get custom sizes or finishes?
Custom paint finishes are not available. Custom sizes require a minimum wheel order as would be expected from dealer-level batches.
Community & Support
Are EVO II wheels still being made?
Absolutely. After being revived in ~2018 by the original designer, EVO II continues to see new production runs with ongoing color and size releases.
